Philanthropic Activities of the Grand Priory
The Hospitaller activities of the Grand Priory have always been centred towards supporting several charitable institutions and individuals. The Grand Priory of the Maltese Islands is a relatively small national jurisdiction of just under 90 members reflecting the country’s restricted population which numbers less that half a million inhabitants. In spite of its size, it has managed during the period to raise and donate a significant sum to various philanthropic organizations with particular emphasis with the age-long association to help victims of Hansen’s disease on an international scale.
The monetary donations given over the last few years have been directed towards the following charity groups. In 2023, the total amount donated by the jurisdiction amounted to Eur 56,470 in cash, goods, or hands-on time equivalent. The charities targeted included: Hansen's Disease [18.0%], Care of Chilren & families [21.3%], Special needs individuals [19.3%], Community Service [18.0%], Emergency Relief & Medical aid support [2.6%], Elderly [0.6%], Educational support [0.9%], and 19.3% for other miscellaneous charities.
We welcome any support for our philanthropic work.
